Mt Buller is Australia’s closest snow resort to an international airport, just 3 hours drive from Melbourne airport, or Melbourne CBD.
There are a range of options for getting to Mt Buller, that ensure you are on the slopes in no time.
Driving
Mt Buller is just 248kms north-east of Melbourne via Mansfield.
To get there via the most direct route using Google Maps and GPS, it is best to set your destination to Yea, then once you are in Yea set it for Mansfield, then Mt Buller from Mansfield. All vehicles MUST carry diamond pattern wheel chains by law.
Please be aware of wildlife on the Mt Buller Road, particularly around the Merrijig, Sawmill Settlement and Mirimbah areas. Kangaroos, wallabies, deer, wombats and other animals are often on and beside the road. Slow down and be alert especially during dawn/dusk and at night.
